During the wedding dinner is usually the time for the photographer and the videographer to have a moment to switch SD cards, discuss what other photos need to be taken and recharge their camera batteries (as well as their own!). We had sat down to do some discussing of what is to happen in the next few moments, and grab a bite of food to eat. I must give 10/10 points the Brix and Mortar for it’s delicious vegan salad that was made for us! Never before did we feel this spoiled as photographers and videographers at any wedding! This wedding food was absolutely to die for!
Throughout our chatting about the next photographs we needed to get, we noticed that our camera lens was not in the place where Mehdi had left it. After a solid four minutes of slight terror on all three of our parts-Photographer, videographer and photographer’s assistant-we realized that the camera lens had just been misplaced into a different camera lens section of Mehdi’s backpack. This was a massive “phew!” moment for the three of us. During wedding days, the time goes by so quickly and movements from getting ready locations to wedding ceremony locations to reception locations happen so quickly, it is not impossible to miss a very slight detail, even one such as placing a camera lens into the wrong section of the backpack! Of course, this is not a big deal, as all three of us are usually extremely careful, it was just a quite shocking four minutes that could have been avoided!
Usually, on wedding days, or should I say, really, any “job” that is ever done.. well let’s just say, it would be quite odd if absolutely nothing went wrong on the day. It will never be 100% perfect. When these little mistakes happen, I always like to show some gratitude towards the situation, as I am so thankful that the “mistakes” or “accidents” that happen are usually just as tiny as something such as a camera lens or a camera lens cap being misplaced. When we think about it, many other things may go wrong!
We were very lucky to have had a comfortable place to store our camera "stash" (all of our bags, laptops, equipment, tripods, etc!) during the wedding’s dinner time. Kimberly had found us a table to place in the area where the ceremony took place, and we were so grateful to have been able to make use of this area at this time.
An enormous amount of effort, energy, and excitement goes into preparing to photograph a wedding. it is such an honour to be the one to capture this remarkable day through our lenses. This is one of the highlights of being a wedding photographer and videographer in this beautiful Vancouver, BC. The beauty of capturing the perfect moments exactly how they deserve to remember them.
We would like to thank every vendor that was involved in this wedding, everyone did such a great job. This venue was absolutely beautiful, and the wedding food was fabulous. Congratulations to beautiful Alison and Aeronn and we hope that the two of you have a marriage filled with nothing but the absolute best, and most happiest of days!
